My week in a nutshell. . .

Hey everyone!! Well as promised I’m back for a recap of my week. Its been a pretty eventful one and at the same time a short week as we had Monday off for Martin Luther King Day. Tuesday was a rough one after the long weekend (4-days for me) but I quickly got back into the swing of things. Unfortunately I had to start my week off with an exam, but I was ready for it. Later that day we had our first Phi-Beth Lambda meeting of the semester, which reminded me that I would soon need to hold another Business and Communications Club meeting. The time is flying by…and I love it, don’t get me wrong, but at the same time its kinda crazy to think how much is ahead of us and how much I’ll need to accomplish by the end of this semester. One day at a time, I suppose! haha…Wednesday brought about an exciting day for classes and extracurriculars as I had one class, but instead of having actual class we were asked to go to several local shopping centers and study peoples behavior when in certain stores. Our stores were Abercrombie and Fitch and The Buckle. This was an interesting experience and we were able to question the managers and find out more info about the people who shop at these stores. Definitely a hands on experience, and a great way to get out of the classroom while still learning a lesson. Wednesday evening’s are now marked as our Intramural Bowling night!! What a great time this is for everyone involved! It really breaks the week up nicely, and is a great way to simply relax, get your mind off of school for a bit, and have fun! Our team “Prestige Worldwide” (Stepbrothers, for those of you wondering) had a great first week! The future looks bright for Prestige Worldwide haha… keep an eye out for pics and standings.

Thursday rolled around fast enough… we had a member of our group for Behavioral Organizations go to the Rotary Club in Cleveland to find out what our groups semester assignment would be. We found out we will be raising money for the Tall Ships program! This was great news to find that we would be helping these children get off the streets and into something very productive, while learning so much from the experience at the same time!

Finally, that evening in celebration of my friend Emily’s 21st birthday a group of us all went to TGI Fridays! It was great catching up with everyone, especially McKenzi and Damir who I hadn’t seen forever, since we’ve all have such busy schedules this semester. We all agreed we have to do something like that more often.

Friday, which is still happening as I type this blog has been going well. Of course I have had no classes today (don’t hate me because of that). I did however get up bright and early to go to breakfast as part of our Entrepreneurship Experience meeting. 7:15 came quick and we arrived a bit late, but I felt that the fast-early morning wake up actually gave me a lot of energy for the day. I was able to get a lot accomplished, and found our later in the day who had won our Entreprenaurship Business Plan Competition that Jason, Nate, and I were in. Unfortunately, our team did not win, but nonetheless, Caves Crave (first place), and WU town clothing (second place) were deserving of the win!! E very EE group worked so hard and showed so much dedication that if I were one of the judges I would have had a tough time deciding the winner. I’m so proud of everyone and so fortunate to have had the Entrepreneurship Experience!

Well Friday night is rolling around so I’m going to get going. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Take care,

–Chris Burr
